German Shepherd Behavior Training

It was a strange sight to behold and one could not just control laughing. My neighbor had invited his boss for dinner. He wanted a raise and what could be a better way than to tell his boss his feelings when he is enjoying dinner. That raise was not going to materialize and in all probabilities he might get fired from the company. His untrained German Shepherd had chased his boss and had even managed to bite off a piece of cloth from the seat of his trousers. This day would have not come if my neighbor had been careful to impart German Shepherd behavior training to his dog. Dogs are like humans and they have lots of intelligence.

This does not mean that they are born knowing everything. Like humans they too have to be taught. If you expect your puppy German Shepherd to grow up into an intelligent adult that will provide you and your family with hours of joy and happiness it is high time that you paid attention to German Shepherd Behavior training. It is not as tough as you think and with a bit of effort from your side you can make to grow up into responsible adults that will obey all your commands. German Shepherds are famous for their loyalty and also for their ability to learn commands fast. However teaching a puppy is far easier that teaching a grown up adult dog. Once they have grown up, they might have already imbibed some habits and then one has to first remove these habits before they can teach them the correct ones.

I had observed my neighbor being harsh with his puppy and this is not the way German Shepherds should be trained. They are very sensitive and need to be trained in a loving manner. The fact that they are intelligent and respond to commands and pick up thing fast helps when one is undertaking German Shepherd Behavior training. Stating your displeasure with a negative shake of the head or just a harsh `No' should suffice to convey to your puppy that they are doing something wrong. They have to be trained to understand your moods and know what you like and what you do not like. Try to be friendly with them and teach them one thing at a time so that they do not get confused.

Teaching one thing at a time till they learn it properly is the bet way of training German Shepherds. The first and prime aspects of German Shepherd behavior training are teaching them about housebreaking. It might sound ridiculous but there are many people who do not bother about this aspect and the end result is that they find their rooms getting spoiled with excreta every now and then. Growing up puppies lie chewing and it is best to give them a rubber bone to chew upon. Not only will this act as a plaything for them, but it will also ensure that the clothes of your sofa remain undamaged.
